摘要

In the earliest days of pressure washing, there were no guns - just a hand-held piece of pipe with a nozzle on the end. This meant that to turn the water spray on or off, the user literally had to turn the machine on or off. Because pressure ranges in those days were much lower, generally 1000 psi max, wand kickback was minimal. As horsepower and pressure ratings grew, it became apparent that operators needed to better control the water. By the 1970s, systems came with a fairly durable and impact-resistant gun, along with a cost-efficient rear inlet and ball valve. By the 1980s, a new pressure washer safety standard mandated that trigger guns (or equivalent devices) be placed on all machines delivering 100 psi or greater. Today, guns are an essential part of any pressure washing system.
