What is Fire Damage?

Most restoration contractors tend to evaluate heat and smoke damage by appearance. Following a fire, any change of an object or surface from its pre-fire appearance is considered to be damage. If the change in appearance can be remedied then the damage is deemed restorable. If the original appearance cannot be economically restored, then the damage is considered unrestorable.
