Local governments soon may have a way to predict how much water they will have based on rain patterns over 100 years.The Department of Agriculture's Agriculture Research Service(ARS)is conducting studies on climate data to learn precipitation patterns for the last century into the next.ARS is emphasizing how improved and tailored climatic information and seasonal forecasts can help water-resource managers,said Jean Steiner,soil scientist with the Graz-inglands Research Laboratory.
