Performance of Lactating Crossbred (J x L) Cows under Different Housing Management During Summer in Konkan

High temperature caused increase in respiration rate and body temperatures and decrease in feed intake and milk production in cows. (Vazhapilly, et al. 1990). An ideal housing enables in moderating the range of microclimate to which the animals are exposed and the degree of comfort depends upon types of housing. It also improves the dairy cattle productivity by protecting them from extreme climate (Dhiman et al. 1990, Sharma and Singh, 2002). Therefore, the present investigation was carried out to study the performance of lactating crossbred (J x L) cows under different types of housing conditions and the suitable housing conditions for maintaining temperature inside the shed.
