Traffic Court, Anyone? Agencies continue to step up Hazmat Activities

By now, most people in the pressure washing industry have seen or heard something about the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) efforts to be more proactive in enforcing Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR, or HazMat Regulations). An article earlier this year (CT, June 2004) provided information about the areas of concern that companies in this industry need to focus on to ensure that they are operating within the DOT's guidelines. Since the publishing of that article my company, as well as several others with which it does business, have been either inspected or visited by some variation of an HMR enforcement agency.
