摘要

The diseases like yellow mosaic virus (YMV) and leaf crinkle are the common diseases of urdbean. Leaf crinkle is the major biotic stress causing heavy yield losses. Some times occur in epidemic form, resulting in total failure of the crop. An ideal way of disease management is to locate a resistant source, which could be used in future breeding programme. A field study was conducted to screen the progenies against YMV and leaf crinkle and also to identify the promising crosses showing maximum inheritance for resistance. The material consisted of 69 F4 progenies of 10 crosses. The experiment was conducted at agriculture research station, Durgapura, Jaipur during kharif 2005 with 2 rows of 4 meter length and 30 cm spacing. To create natural epiphytotic condition infector rows were repeated after every 5 genotypes. All the agronomic practices were adopted to grow better crop. The screening was done at 2 stages (30 days after sowing and 50 days) under natural field condition. The observations were recorded as resistant and susceptible for YMV and leaf crinkle.
