So far, we've covered two types of gas burner safety/fuel control systems: the discrete type, where the pressure regulation, pilot safety, and main burner on-off functions are performed by separate components; and the combination type where all of these functions are integrated into a single unit. Both types of systems employ a so-called "standing pilot," meaning that the pilot flame is usually kept burning at all times-even when the pressure washer is not being used.
