摘要

Thrips (Thrips tabaci Lindeman.) is a serious pest of garlic crop. For the management of this pest farmer mostly use insecticides and same insecticides are repeated many times in a crop seasons, therefore, insect develop resistance against insecticides as well as create environmental pollution. To avoid the above problem a field experiment was conducted at Regional Research Station, Nasik in 2009-10 and 2010-11 during Rabi season on garlic variety Yamuna Safed-4 for the management of thrips by usingsome biopesticides / insecticides. Significantly lowest total mean thrips population (1.78 nymph/plant) and highest marketable yield (83.17q/ha) was recorded in sequential spray of spinosad 45 % SC @ 0.1 %, vermiwash @ 15 %, spinosad 45 % SC @ 0.1 % andfipronil 05 SC @ 0.1 % at 10 days interval. While highest net return and cost benefit ratio (1:3.85) was recorded in sequential spray of vermiwash @ 15 %, spinosad 45 %SC @ 0.1 %, fipronil 5 % SC @ 0.1 %, and deltamethrin 2.8 % EC @ 0.095 % sprayed plot.
