摘要

The effectiveness of eight selected plant product cinders locally available were evaluated in control of C. chinensis on most preferred food lentil, Lens culinaris in laboratory. The results revealed that cinders of dried bark and fresh fruits of Thevetia nerifolia, fresh leaves of Calotropis procera, dried seeds with glandular hairs of Centratherum anthelminticum, shade-dried whole plant of Euphorbia nivulia and dried seeds of Caesalpinia crista were the most effective in controlling the pulse bruchid, C. chinensis followed by traditional products like powder of orange rind and neem leaves. The cinders of dried bark and fresh fruits of Thevetia nerifolia and fresh leaves of Calotropis procera acted as strong oviposition deterrent and grain protectant against C. chinensis in storage at the dosage of 2.5 g/250g grain weight of lentil seeds up to five months.
