Citizen Action Leads to Plea in Mo. Sew Discharge Case

A citizen's tip has resulted in the guilty plea of a former public official in connection with the failure to report numerous raw sewage discharges in Missouri. The Environmental Protection Agency said a tip to its Web site in 2006 lead to an investigation into sewage discharges into the Lake of the Ozarks. On July 31, a former city official of Lake Ozark, Mo., admitted guilt in the case.
