摘要

Polyvinyl butyral (PVB)/titania composite prepared using the sol-gel process was studied using tensile testing, dynamic mechanical analysis and gravimetry. The relationships of the composite and gelation time showed that titania acts as the crosslinking agent of PVB. Dynamic mechanical analysis showed that titania was dispersed homogeneously in PVB and the thermal motion of the molecular chain was prevented by the interaction between them. Solubility and degree of swelling of the composite in alcohol, acetone and water decreased with the mixing of titania.
