摘要

Two methods, perchloric acid digestion and dry ashing followed by acid extraction, were compared for liberating soil-bound phosphorus in preparation for analysis of total phosphorus in aquaculture pond sediment. Although there were differences in total phosphorus concentrations and estimates of precision between the methods, a high correlation was found between the two methods for both saline and non-saline samples. The dry ashing method is particularly suitable for use in laboratories without perchloric acid hoods, where the perchloric acid method cannot be safely conducted.
