This journal issue tackles some of the dominant issues of interest and concern in agricultural economics. It consists of 14 conference papers on the 2007 U.S. farm bill and crop insurance, water conservation strategies and policies, economics of obesity, and the biofuel revolution. It also consists of articles on the impact of income on price and income responses in the differential demand system; U.S. demand for source-differentiated shrimp; agency theory issues in the food processing industry; residential land values in urbanizing areas; population growth and land use dynamics along urban-rural gradient; testing non-linear logit models of performance effectiveness ratings of cooperative extension and organic farms; joint estimation method to combine dichotomous choice CVM models with count data TCM models corrected for truncation and endogenous stratification; and correction of measurement error in monthly USDA pig crop.
