摘要

This study develops the methodology to apply digital image processing technology to the field of atmospheric environment.Replacing the traditional measurement for atmospheric visibility,the new method can provide accurate digital data to present visibility and establish the new indeXfor visibility.The procedure is demonstrated as follows:taking the photo-image of the selected targets,analyzing the brightness of images,transferring the integral of the pixels on the image by the atmospheric visibility by two independent statistic methods for image high frequency extracting,sobel and wavelet methods.Finally,the correlation between the digital indexes and visual investigation of visibility can be confirmed.
