Real time size distribution measurement of clinker aerosol:the first step to fingerprint determination

The European Commission has established PM10 limit values for PM monitoring in the air quality directive (1999/30/CE):annual daily limit of 20 ig PM10 m~(-3),and a 24 h limit value of 50 ig PM10 m~(-3),and also state the convenience of including PM2.5 standards in the 2003 evaluation.It is foreseeable to consider short-to mid-term limits for industrial processes,considering explicitely fine particles.Querol et al (2001)allocate the origin of PM10 and PM2.5 in Barcelona as follows;for PM10 the 4% in mass is marine aerosol,the 26% has a crustal origin and the 54% is anthropogenic,for PM2.5,the mass percentages are respectively <1%,8% and 73%.According to the current state of the art,the penetration window for industrial equipment lies under 1 to 3 im.Thus,such of experimental results could be considered as typical for developed countries and industrial areas.
