Characterisation of ambient air pm during african outbreaks over northeastern iberian peninsula and the canary islands

摘要

African dust air mass intrusions significantly influence the levels of ambient air particulate matter (PM) in the Iberian Peninsula,(Querol et al.,1998,Rodriguez et al.,2001,2002 and 2003 and Viana et al.,2003) and the Canary Islands(Viana et al,2002),where this impact is especially important due to the proximity to the western African coast.The main objective of this study is to characterise PM (levels,grain size distribution,chemistry and mineralogy) during African dust outbreaks over the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands.
