Controlled Feral Colonies at Strategic Locations

It is now becoming quite widely accepted that there appears to be a residua! number of feral/managed honey bee colonies in Scotland which have achieved a degree of tolerance to the Varroa mite. This situation could and should be able to be exploited for the common good of the honey bee and beekeeping in general by setting up projects of 'controlled feral' colonies in strategic locations in Scotland.
