Depression severity and effect of antidepressant medications.

To the Editor: The meta-analysis of antidfipressants by Mr Fournier and colleagues1 is important for clinical practice, but I have 3 reservations. First, although the authors had access to individual patient data, they used last observation carried forward for patients who dropped out. This method of imputation is likely to overestimate the effect of antidepressants.
