Acute prepatellar and olecranon bursitis. Retrospective observational study in 46 patients.

Prepatellar or olecranon bursitis is a common condition that accounts for 0.1 to 1.2/1000 emergency room visits [2,3]. Middle-aged men are predominantly affected, particularly those working in manual jobs, and cases are more common in the summer [4]. There is no significant difference between the two locations in terms of clinical or paraclinical feature [4], but the distribution of cases between the prepatellar and olecranon bursae varies across studies (Table 2).
