The joining process is a central link at the end of the manufacturing chain of many plastic products. In order to obtain the functionality of an overall system, welding, adhesive bonding, screwing, riveting or snapping-on must also be carried out after the initial forming in many cases. Problems and unnecessary costs while developing a product can be avoided if the joining technology is already taken into account at an early stage during the design and the fabrication planning. It is all the more impo-rant that this is understood in all the steps of the moulding development and fabrication.
