At Fakuma 2008, Herrmann Ultra-schall, Karlsbad, presented, for the first time, the new "HiQ evolution" ultrasonic welding machine which, due to a new operating concept, contributes to reducing non-productive times efficiently. Now, the machine constructor is following this up with the components for automation. The newly designed ultrasonic feed units in the "VE evolution" series have been developed in strict geometrical order for 20 kHz, 30 kHz and 35 kHz. Attention centred not only on the new HMC drive technology but also on the implementation of a narrow construction shape which permits the installation of several units closely next to each other. The design is rounded off by a compact console structure, precise guiding systems and an incremental absolute path measuring system.
