From the early days where compo-sites were used for non-structural exterior applications such as car boots and bonnets, they are now being used for structural applications as well as the mass production of vehicle parts. Having first demonstrated their potential in aircraft construction, epoxy composites then became the material of choice in racing cars, moving onto use in the 'supercar' market before reaching the mass market.
