摘要

The infusion process is widely used to manufacture large components sucb as wind blades or wing boxes. However, determining vent locations and injection strategies is a real challenge for large, complex parts made of different composite materials and inserts, for which resin does not flow uniformly through the thickness. Until recently, none of the simulation tools available were capable of accurately managing such large or complex components requiring volume modelling; companies had to carry out multiple expensive and time-consuming trials to reach an efficient manufacturing process.
