In the JIRCAS international research project: "Studies on sustainable production systems of aquatic animals in brackish mangrove areas" which began in 2001, the author in Peninsular Malaysia have conducted fundamental researches on life cycle, feeding habit, fishing, etc. of Snappers and Groupers under the Malaysia research theme: "Studies on coupling habitat, biology and management of commercially important fish species in mangrove estuaries".
