Ferro-Nickel, Nickel Output Increases in First Half

Ferro-nickel production increased 12.5 percent in the April-September first half of fiscal year 2000 and exports rose 9.6 percent. Production increased to meet growing demand from the domestic and export markets.Nickel production increased 16.8 percent in the first half as Sumitomo Metal Mining expanded its capacity. Demand was brisk, production grew and sales increased as well.
