Major Steel Mills In crease Steel Product Output for Auto Industry

NKK and other integrated steel mills are planning to increase production of steel products for auto applications. NKK will restart the idled galvanizing line at its Keihin works, Kawasaki City and raise monthly production capacity by 15 percent to 150,000 tons.Sumitomo Metal Industries will reinforce capacity for cast and forged steel crankshaft production September next year and increase output by 20 percent in three years time. Plan for the company is to expand sales to Toyota Motor and Honda Motor which are increasing auto output.
