Tokyo, Steel Bar Makers to Stop Operation on Long Holiday in May

The reinforcing steel bar makers by the electric furnace in Kanto area around Tokyo will stop the operation of furances on long holiday season in April-May. Some maker will stop the furnace for 17 days (steel making), and some plans to operate only at night same as usual. Though electric furnaces steel makers intensively operate on long holiday season that electric power cost is cheaper as a general rule, they plan to produce in response to actual demand to get stable the supply and demand.
