Gallium arsenic semiconductor is used for pick up for optical disc, traffic light and tail rump of automobile along with communication devices including cell phone. Furukawa's Iwaki plant is the largest operation of gallium arsenic, which is raw materials for the semiconductor, in the world. The plant is collecting arsenic from scrap generated from the processing operation for gallium single crystal ingot along with production of gallium arsenic.
