Kobe Steel announced on Thursday it developed high-tensile steel plate with improved weldability for bridge application. The plate with 60 kilogram per millimeter of tensile strength enables twice higher heat input compared with traditional standard. The firm developed the plate with technology to divide into ultra fine crystal grains of steel. The technology enables the welding point not to deteriorate. The performance reduces bridge working cost by reducing man hour with fewer welding points.
