NKK, Toyota Tsusho Corp, Others Set up Joint Venture

NKK, Toyota Tsusho Corp and six other Japanese companies have agreed to set up DME International on October 19. This joint company will carry out feasibility study on production and sales of direct-synthesized dimethyl ether which is touted as the new clean energy for the 21st century.DME will work out marketing, business and financing plans and will begin FS after two years of research and aims to commence supply in fiscal 2006. Annual plant capacity is expected to be between 800,000 tons and 1.5 million tons.
