Sumitomo Wiring Systems tries to increase the automotive wiring harness production in offshore sites to 90 percent of total output by fiscal 2008 ending March 2009 from current just more than 80 percent. The firm increases the supply for offshore transplants of Japanese automakers while the firm reduces high-cost domestic operation. The firm invests 22.4 billion yen for the year to March 2006 to improve the research and development for the future competitiveness.
