Nippon Steel Corporation expects that the cost increasing of raw materials, fuels, and freight would reach 17 billion yen in fiscal 2004, the year ending in March 2005. The firm has anticipated at 100 billion yen in March 2004, but added greatly in this estimate. It became at 65.5 billion yen in fiscal 2003, and increased by 2.5 billion yen from March estimate by the firm. Although the costs of ferrous scrap and marine transportation, etc. fell from the peak, they still exceeded from the previous year.
