Sponge Titanium Demand of 2001 Hits a Record 25,107 Tons

Japan's sponge titanium shipments in 2001 increased 30.9 percent from the previous year; topped the forecast of 24,000 tons made at the beginning of the year and reached an all-time high at 25,107 tons, according to a statistical report released January 31 by Japan Titanium Association. Exports led by demand for aircraft applications were robust and so were domestic requirements for further processing.
