WHEN TOTAL EPNL was awarded a license in 2004 to drill well ZDW-A10-T1 from the Zuidwaal platform in the Waddenzee, certain requirements had to be achieved. As a condition of the license, the Dutch authorities imposed strict environmental limits. In setting these limits, the authorities took into consideration the demands of local and Dutch society. It was made clear that the possibility of pollution in the Wadden Sea, however Noise limitation set at 50 db(A) at 300m; Minimum visual disturbance; Minimum light pollution; Minimal disturbances.
