Hand and finger injuries lead the industry's recordable incidence rates every year. Data from lADC's 2009 Incident Statistics Program (ISP) indicate that 34% of recordable incidents and 20% of lost-time incidents fall in this category. According to ISP statistics, the floor-man is injured the most often while tripping drill pipe in and out of the well. Most of these injuries occur on the rig floor in the "caught between objects" category.
