Wacker Chemie AG has announced the launch of its new production plant for vinyl acetate-eth-ylene copolymer (VAE) dispersions at its Ulsan site in South Korea. The new facility provides an additional 40,000 metric tons from the second reactor line, nearly doubling the production site's VAE-dispersion capacity in its increase to 90,000 tons per year. With this annual capacity, the plant complex is one of the largest of its kind in South Korea. According to the company, this expansion comes as a result of a ?10 million investment in response to a rising demand for high-quality VAE dispersions, most especially in Southeast Asia's emerging markets.
