From 'Perinatal Visit' to 'Healthy Start Oita'—Efforts to develop a mother-child healthand child-rearing support program-

The Oita-method perinatal visit (child-rearing andhealth guidance) project, which began as a single-year, coordinated obstetrician-pediatrician modelproject of the Japanese Ministry of Health, Laborand Welfare and the Japan Medical Association(JMA) in 2001 reached its 8th year in 2008. Thesuccess of this project was reported at the mater-nal and child health seminar of JMA in 2006, andpublished in Nippon Ishikai Zasshi (Journal of theJapan Medical Association) (136;4(supp.):89-95).
