摘要

UV-curable powder coatings is being introduced for heat-sensitive substrate, allowing finish of products and materials that could not be finished with thermal powder coatings. These coatings are three times faster than thermal powder coating, while its initial capital cost is more than a solventborne thermal system. UV-curable power coatings are free of volatile organic compound (VOC) components and hazardous air pollutants (HAP) that could be REACH classified as dangerous and high risk. The power waste material is sent to industrial processors for use as a compound additive in plastic manufacturing, while manufacture and application of these coatings is not subject to any environmental permit restrictions. The faster speed of these coatings result in improved productivity, and these coatings maintain a speed advantage and provide a faster return of the invested capital.
