International report: ACA takes proactive role in industry's international efforts

The American Coatings Association (ACA) works closely with the International paint and Printing Ink Council Inc. (IPPIC) as a move towards taking proactive role in industry's international affairs. In this direction, ACA is invited by Canadian paint and Coatings Association (CPCA) to advise and help in the negotiation of the volatile organic compound (VOC) emission regulations with the Ministry of the Environment. ACA's marine Coatings Committee is responsible for coordinating the association's activities with IPPIC and the North American Antifouling Work Group. The association is also a part of the IPPIC Performance Standard for Protective Coatings (PSPC) Work Group formed to address new International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards for protective coatings applied to ballast tanks, cargo holds, and void spaces.
