E. Casserly, Chair of the Resin Solvency group, handed out copies of D 5661, "Relative Solvency of Petroleum Oils by PKP Method," with his suggested changes, which were reviewed by the group. It was noted that Pentalyn K resin is still available through Eastman Chemical. The revised standard will be submitted for balloting. The group on Resin Solution Dilutability by Volumetric/Gravimetric Determination, C Hsu, Chair, reviewed D 5062, which is due for reapproval. Mr. Hsu noted that in the case of very soluble resins, the specified 150 ml beaker is not large enough. It was noted that changing the diameter/size could alter the ability to see the newsprint under the beaker.
