Dow Biocides,Buffalo Grove,IL,a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company (Dow),has announced the acquisition of the 3-iodo-2-propynyl butyl carbonate (IPBC) molecule marketing and registration assets of the Sostram Corporation,which are marketed under the Protram~R trademark.According to Dow Biocides,the acquisition will allow the company to accelerate the growth and geographic expansion of the IPBC molecule to customers who serve the paint and coatings,wood preservation,metalworking fluids,and building materials protection industries.No Sostram employees or manufacturing sites are included in this acquisition.
