U.S.Paint and Coatings Industry Continues To Rebound

The U.S.paint and coatings industry has rebounded from the recession of 2001.That is the findings of NJ-based consulting firm Kusumgar,Nerlfi & Growney,which has just released sales figures for 2006 and its sales forecast through the year 2011 as part of its new U.S.Paint & Coatings Industry,2006-2011 study.Last year,the U.S.paint and coatings industry sold 9.5 billion dry pounds of product valued at 23.8 billion.Following the downturn in 2001,modest growth rates began in 2003.As of 2006,dry pound volume is up 15% from 2001 and dollar sales are up 30%.Coating prices are up sharply the last few years due to the steep price rise in raw materials.
