摘要

Colonial Pipeline Co.’s new slogan — “We Move the Energy That Moves America” — resonates throughout the airline industry. Airlines depend on deliveries of jet fuel from Gulf Coast refineries to airports in the Northeast — in particular New York’s three hubs. Deliveries from Gulf Coast plants to the Northeast have increased dramatically as refineries in Pennsylvania have shut down. They include Sunoco’s 178,000 barrel per day Marcus Hook plant, which was idled in December, and the 185,000 b/d Trainer refinery that was shut down last September and Delta Air Lines now plans to purchase from ConocoPhillips (JFI May7’12). In addition, Sunoco closed its 145,000 b/d Eagle Point refinery in New Jersey in February 2010 and Western Refining shut its 66,300 b/d Yorktown Virginia plant in September of that year.
