North American Snapshot: Pace of Recovery Picks Up Steam

The pace of recovery in North American jet fuel demand picked up momentum in November. Liftings climbed by 2.2% to 1.6 million barrels per day. An uptick in usage at airports on the US East Coast pushed US demand up by 2.2% to some 1.42 million b/d. Mexican consumption reversed course in October and climbed another 7.3% in November to around 54,000 b/d with a rebound in tourist arrivals. Canadian demand held steady at 110,000 b/d in November.
