Kuwait Leapfrogs Rivals to Become Europe’s Top Supplier

Kuwait leapfrogged the United Arab Emirates, India and Saudi Arabia to become Europe’s biggest overseas jet fuel supplier last year as state-owned Kuwait Petroleum International Aviation Company demonstrated a clear bias for European sales. Full-year import data from the International Energy Agency (IEA) show Kuwait sending almost 4 million metric tons (115,000 barrels per day) of jet to Europe in 2013, a staggering 56% increase on 2012 volumes, as total European jet imports rose 6% to 19.2 million tons (560,000 b/d).
