Pacific Snapshot: Reduced Supply Erodes Stock Cushion

Jet fuel stocks across the Pacific region fell to 20 million barrels in December as South Korea drew down tanks to maintain export flows amid sharply lower refinery output. Lower imports into Australia and the US West Coast also reduced the inventory cushion. Despite the 2 million bbl plunge from November levels, stocks were just 2% below the year-earlier mark. The onset of winter in North Asia trimmed storage tanks for burning kerosene to 22.3 million bbl at year-end.
