Global jet fuel demand ended 2014 on a strong footing, rising by 5.6% from year-earlier rates to some 3.17 million b/d in December. Industrialized countries provided most of the traction, with the US market showing a jump of nearly 9% to 1.55 million b/d. Europe recouped some lost ground as a strong showing in the UK lifted regional consumption by 3.6%. The Japanese market expanded slightly after shrinking in October and November.
