Acute zonal occult outer retinopathy (AZOOR) is a syndrome first described by Gass in 1993.l This disorder predominantly affects young women and is characterized by an acute loss of outer retinal function in one or more zones, photopsia, minimal funduscopic changes, and electroretino-graphic (ERG) abnormalities.' The exact cause of this disease is still unknown, although a viral or autoimmune system etiology is suspected.2
