METI Eyes Tax Incentive to Promote Biofuel

The Ministry of Economy,Trade and Industry,or METI,is to introduce preferential taxation to promote the spread of biofuel.When biofuel is blended into gasoline,it will exempt the mixed amount of biofuel from taxation.In connection with this,METI,the Ministry of Agriculture,Forestry and Fisheries and the Ministry of Environment will jointly make a proposal to revise taxation systems in the next fiscal year beginning next April.
