Chiyoda Corp.has recently secured a contract through its subsidiary Chiyoda Singapore for modification work at the long-residue,catalytic-cracking unit(LRCCU)at the Bu-kom Island refinery of Shell Eastern Petroleum.The plan is to carry out the work during wide-ranging modifications to be made at the end of 2008.The company has also secured an order from Shell Eastern for a facility to remove sulfur from sour water and this is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.Besides these projects,in the petrochemicals sector,Chiyoda Singapore carries out scheduled maintenance and modifications to the Teijin Group's polycarbonate plant on an ongoing basis,and is therefore expanding its activities.
